Today FM

Established in 1997 Today FM is a prominent radio station in Ireland, which broadcasts nationally, and consistently ranks among the most listened stations in the country.

Today FM’s programming includes a mix of music, talk shows, news, sports coverage, and entertainment segments. Many of their hosts are media figures well-known to the Irish public. As of March 2023 the station had an audience share of 11.4%.

The station was initially called Radio Ireland when it was launched by John McColgan and Moya Doherty on St Patrick's Day 1997. Due to its low listenership, was relaunched as 100 – 102 Today FM on New Year’s Day 1998. McColgan and Doherty owned the station via their company Radio Ireland Limited, which was purchased by Scottish Radio Holdings in 2002. Ownership transferred again in 2005, when the company was bought by Emap. In 2007, Emap sold it’s Irish operations to Communicorp.

Today, the station is owned by Bauer Media Audio Ireland (formerly Communicorp), a subsidiary of Bauer Media, who purchased Communicorp in 2019. As such, it is a sister station of Newstalk, Dublin's 98FM, Spin 103.8 and Cork’s Red FM.
