TG4
Teilifís na Gaeilge is a public service broadcaster, and operates the Irish language television channels TG4 and Cúla 4. It was created on 1 April 2007 in order to independently manage the Irish language television station TG4, which had been managed by Raidió Teilifís Éireann since 1996 when broadcasting operations commenced. The corporation is managed by a board, which includes a chairperson (Cathaoirleach) and a director general (Ardstiúrthóir).
TG4 is managed by a board, appointments to which, as outlined in the Broadcasting Act of 2009, are made by the government on the nomination of the minister of a specified department. The responsibility is currently part of the portfolio for the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, which is headed by Minister Catherine Martin, who appointed Anna Ní Ghallachair as Chairperson of the TG4 Board in late 2022.
